A group led by Chippewa and Ojibway First Nations women have been on a walk along regional watersheds in several counties. It's both to honour the traditional relationship with the water, and to reflect on current issues around it that could affect its future.​ Joanne Keeshig of Saugeen Ojibway Nation has been coordinating the journey and spoke with us nearing the end of the walk. Beloved conservation area Lemoine Point has been the site of vandalism and harm to animals for months near Kingston. A local group is taking action to track down the culprit. From that group, Christine Paterson spoke with us on her view of the volunteer investigation Recent deaths from suspected opioid overdoses in Simcoe County now have local harm reduction workers on high alert. Harm Reduction Coordinator with the Gilbert Centre, Sarah Tilley, told us about the most recent overdose deaths and what's being done to stop the alarming trend.
