A collection of 80 superb European Renaissance sculptures in bronze, boxwood, and ivory, assembled by the late Robert H. Smith from 1978 to 2009, is promised to the National Gallery of Art. Curators and conservators from the team that prepared the catalog discuss the sculptures, offering a look at the technical and art historical research that yielded new discoveries about them.
