Michael Schenker is one of the most influential rock guitarists on the planet with players such as John Petrucci, Kirk Hammett and Randy Rhoades citing the German born guitarist as an inspiration.
Schenker rose to fame through his fiery playing in The Scorpions and UFO in the '70s and '80s. And whilst a host of offers from artists such as Aerosmith and Ozzy Ozbourne were extended, Schenker has always been happiest following his own muse.
Schenker joins us to reflect on 50 years of high octane rock and a new album, Immortal, that celebrates this milestone.
We also discuss his approach to guitar tracking, working with Jim Marshall on an unfinished project which Schenker believes led to the JCM800 series, the history of the legendary 'cocked-wah' tone and more.
