I am joined by Matt Newman to talk his amazing adventure of solo climbing a mountain peak at Crater Lake in February. Yes....FEBRUARY! At risk of death, Matt braves the elements alone to capture a beautiful early Milky Way over Crater Lake. He returned alive but frost nipped and sunburnt! The ultimate oxymoron of winter torture! :D
We also talk about his success getting that Crater Lake image picked up by Universe Today for their Cosmos Publication as seen here: https://www.universetoday.com/139658/our-book-the-universe-today-ultimate-guide-to-viewing-the-cosmos/
Continuing on his success getting his image used for that publication, he is awarded a Shortlist Recognition for the 2018 Astronomy Photographer of the Year in the Aurora category.
