The Atlanta Braves simply could not get the big hit when they needed it on Wednesday and dropped a 3-2 game in extra-innings to the Washington Nationals. 

With the loss, Atlanta now trails the New York Mets by one game in the NL East standings as the two clubs prepare for a three-game series at Truist Park that begins on Friday.
