On this podcast we take a look at the word ‘opposition‘ which is used in football to describe the team that another team is playing against – it has a similar meaning to opponent which I mentioned at the start of the show. So, Bournemouth were the opposition for Tottenham’s game yesterday and they proved to be a tough opponent. And we will also be looking at some examples of this word to get a better understanding of how it is used in football. We will also look at some of the different forms connected to this word including  ‘opposing‘.
