Welcome, friendly Nation Citizens, to a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to get you up to date on all things Edmonton Oilers. With the Oilers' season in full swing and Adam Larsson going down with an injury, there was plenty to talk about and we did our best to make sense of it all. To kick off this week's podcast, we jumped in with a quick recap of the home opener and what it was like to watch the Oilers play meaningful games again. While each of us had different takeaways from Wednesday night's 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, it was just nice to talk about hockey again. Unfortunately, that win was not without consequence as news broke yesterday that Adam Larsson would be on the shelf for the next month or so with a fractured fibula sustained while blocking a shot. With that in mind, we looked at the depth chart and tried to figure out how the team is going to fill the void left in his absence. From there, we previewed tomorrow's game against the Los Angeles Kings which will mark Todd McLellan's first return to Edmonton since being fired by Peter Chiarelli last November. Next up, we looked at Elliotte Friedman's speculation regarding Connor McDavid and whether or not Ken Holland is on the clock in terms of turning this ship around. You'd have to think that Holland and McDavid have already had this conversation, no? Lastly, we finished up with a look at Milan Lucic's Calgary Flames debut and had a good laugh at the fans that are excited about what the former power forward brings to their roster... at least, what they THINK he brings to the roster.
