A large collection of Mi'kmaw artifacts is getting closer to coming home to Mi'kma'ki. About 500 items, including regalia, quillwork and baskets, have been kept at a museum in the U.S. for many years. Now, a team from the Mi'kmawey Debert Cultural Centre is working at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. to carefully catalog and conserve this history so it can return home. Host Jeff Douglas spoke with Tim Bernard, the executive director of the centre, and curatorial associates, Kamden Nicholas and Basil Johnson.
