The border in Ireland has caused a major headache for the UK's Brexit negotiators -- and that's an understatement. Because not getting a trade deal with the EU would require some kind of checks for customs and regulations. But all of that is problematic because the return of any kind of hard border -- a visible, physical border which could disrupt the free movement of people, goods, cattle and services could potentially become a target for attacks, and, we're repeatedly told, would fly in the face of the Good Friday Agreement. We've been exploring every kind of possible solution to that dilemma for months. Now in an interview this morning with Bloomberg, the DUP leader Arlene Foster has suggested that we need to stop seeing the Good Friday Agreement as written in stone. We discuss this interview and more.
