"Concrete Utopia" had its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for its strong storytelling of class struggle, its powerful performances from its ensemble cast, and the epic-scaled production design showcasing Seoul in the aftermath of an earthquake that devastates the entire city except for one high-rise apartment building. Director and co-writer Um Tae-hwa was kind enough to spend a few minutes speaking with us about his work on the film, which South Korea has selected as their official selection for Best International Feature at the 96th Academy Awards. Please be sure to check out the film, which will open exclusively in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, December 8th, and expand nationwide starting December 15th. Thank you, and enjoy!
