Thank you for listening to this episode of the FOLLOWING FILMS podcast. A movie podcast that takes you on a weekly journey into the world of cinema and the minds of the talented individuals who shape it. I'm your host, Chris Maynard, and today we are joined by two directors of two wonderful genre films playing at this years Holly Shorts Festival. First up we are joined by Ramone Menon to discuss his film MY SCARY INDIAN WEDDING

The film is about a cursed Bridesmaid that has to track down and marry her soulmate to escape the wrath of a malevolent demon called The Manglik. The film uses Indian (South Asian) folklore to examine marital social stigmas used against women that are still in practice in modern India and America.

After the break we’re joined by Angelita Mendoza to discuss her film THE BLUE DRUM

The film focuses on the day of Leticia’s father’s funeral. Secrets long buried begin to surface and Leticia’s world is turned upside down. Nothing is as she believes.

But before we dive into our conversations with Ramone and Angelita, I'd like to take a moment to thank our sponsor, Bookmans. Bookmans is your go-to independent bookstore, where you can find an extensive selection of books, movies, music, and more. They truly believe in the power of storytelling and the magic of the cinematic arts. So, if you're looking to expand your film, music, or movie collection, be sure to visit your nearest Bookmans, there is always something truly wonderful to discover.
