It’s a wonderful Friday afternoon and that means a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio is here, edited into a masterpiece, and ready to stimulate your ear feelings as you head into the weekend. This week, we looked at the opening days of the 2021 NHL season, roster moves from around the league, and a whole lot more.   To kick things off, we jumped in with a look at the first two games of the Edmonton Oilers season, including the reactions that came along after a loss followed by a big win. If there's one thing Oilers fans love to do it's overreacting from game-to-game, and it was a lot of fun watching the pendulum swing back the other way after the game two victory. From there, we offered up our first impressions on the new guys that Ken Holland brought in over the summer, and how they're fitting in so far even though it's only been two games. As you'll hear, the Kool-Aid is flowing. Sticking with first impressions, we also looked at Jesse Puljujarvi's first two games back with the Oilers after returning from Finland for a second tour of duty. On the downside, Edmonton will be without Mike Smith for the next few weeks after word broke yesterday that the veteran netminder is 'unfit to play,' meaning that the pressure is on Ken Holland to find an appropriate option to back up Mikko Koskinen for the foreseeable future. Even so, this was a really fun episode of the podcast as we're all clearly thrilled to have real hockey to talk about after spending most of the last year living in the land of make-believe.
