On this evening at the Waldorf Astoria, I transformed from Qool DJ Marv into the entertainer of the entertainers, Rainey Purple & the BlackerBerry Sweet Juice Orchestra.
I only had to imagine what it would be like to be at a party in the 1920s. What would be the feel of an evening out? Back then, that was going to the club.

Outstanding musicianship abounds. A special thank you to spectacular pianist Peter Mintun. Every time that he took the stage, the stage was set for a change in energy and feeling.
And thanks to HBO who, thankfully, confidently, feel that I'am able to envision their vision for the evening and deliver the musical atmosphere, no matter what the style or era.
