On this evening at the Waldorf Astoria, I transformed from Qool DJ Marv into the entertainer of the entertainers, Rainey Purple & the BlackerBerry Sweet Juice Orchestra.I only had to imagine what it would be like to be at a party in the 1920s. What would be the feel of an evening out? Back then, that was going to the club.http://theurbandaily.com/tv/jbarrow/qool-dj-marv-is-hbos-secret-weapon-video/Outstanding musicianship abounds. A special thank you to spectacular pianist Peter Mintun. Every time that he took the stage, the stage was set for a change in energy and feeling. And thanks to HBO who, thankfully, confidently, feel that I'am able to envision their vision for the evening and deliver the musical atmosphere, no matter what the style or era.Imagination...action!Ellington Medley - Peter MintunBlue Midnight - Peter MintunMidnight Sun - Lionel HamptonI'm Coming Virginia - Bix BeiderbeckeFeeling Good - Fletcher HendersonYou'd Be Surprised - Eddie CantorThe Entertainer - Scott JoplinA Precious Little Thing Called Love - Milt Shaw and His DetroitersWhen My Baby Smiles At Me - Ted Lewis & His Jazz BandJubilee - Bix BeiderbeckeAmerican Patrol - Glenn Miller OrchestraI'm Building Up to An Awful Let-Down - Peter MintunGet Rhythm in Your Feet (And Music In Your Soul) - Benny Goodman And His Orchestra & Helen WardKing Porter Stomp - Fletcher HendersonJivin' With Jarvis - Lionel Hampton & His OrchestraLivin' In The Sunlight, Lovin' In The Moonlight - Paul Whiteman & His OrchestraMaple Leaf Rag - Scott JoplinButton Up Your Overcoat - Waring's PennsylvaniansLet's Do It - Paul Whiteman & His OrchestraEverything Is Hotsy-Totsy Now - Coon-Sanders Original Nighthawk OrchestraOkay Toots - Eddie CantorWhere The Shy Little Violets Grow - H.
