Submit ReviewIt’s Friday afternoon and that means a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio is wrapped up, edited, and set to get you ready for the weekend.
To kick off this week's podcast, we jumped in with a look at Kris Russell's future with the team and whether or not he'll be here for the 2020-21 season. Seeing as his cap hit is $4 million but his actual salary is only $1.5 million, which could make him an attractive option for a budget team out there, but should the Oilers actually look at moving him? Changing gears, we looked at the NHL rumour mill and took some guesses at whether or not Ken Holland will be overly active in terms of getting involved. In terms of finding a goalie, we speculated on how much the Oilers would be willing to spend in a trade to acquire a goaltender. What would it take to get their first round pick? Would they be better off looking for a stopgap in free agency? What about if it means trading for a winger? Next up, we looked at the Oilers signing AHL veteran, Adam Cracknell, to a one-year deal yesterday, and how some folks in Oilers land were surprisingly upset about the depth move. With that in mind, we talked about what makes Oilers fans so susceptible to overreacting to these types of signings as their default setting rather than looking at them for what they are. Lastly, we wrapped up this week's podcast with our Hot and Cold performers of the week to break down the highs and lows from the past seven days.
