Submit ReviewGetting your dream of becoming an author off the ground with Lorna Hollifield
Lorna Hollifield is a Charleston-based fiction author and magazine columnist, as well as the Editor in Chief of The Yellow Bird Press. She grew up in the mountains outside of Asheville North Carolina, where she started writing as a first grader. Lorna spent many years seeking publication, writing for numerous blogs, contributing to literary anthologies, and appearing in small publications. In 2017, her debut novel Tobacco Sun was picked up by Pen Name Publishing, and catapulted her into the professional writing world. Shortly after, Lorna became a columnist in a suburban newspaper called The Islander, and then Charleston’s leading women’s magazine, Skirt. She now writes regularly for Azalea Magazine.
Lorna founded The Yellow Bird Press in 2019 to find authentic stories with wings ready to truly fly. Her goal is to set these stories free into the world where they belong.
When Lorna isn’t writing or combing the world for amazing new authors, she is most likely on a beach somewhere with her husband Kimsey, daughter Allyn, and spunky spaniel, Margaret.
