Yzerman shifted the direction of the rebuild for the better with a flurry of signings on day one of free agency. He signed Andrew Copp, Ben Chiarot, David Perron, Dominik Kubalik, Olli Maatta, Austin Czarnik, and Matt Luff. In part 1 we cover the Red Wings signings of Copp, Chiarot, and Perron. Copp, 28, was signed to a 5x5.625 contract. He is a solid two way 2C and an Ann Arbor native. Chiarot, 31, inked a 4x4.75 contract with Detroit. He is a big physical D who shows flashes of offense...but the price tag is tough to swallow. Finally Perron, 34, was agreed to a 2x4.75 deal. He is a shoot first LW who put up stellar PP numbers, but is still solid defensivley at 5v5. Oh, and Marco Kasper signed his ELC. #LGRW
