Some LGBTIQ+ lobby groups say the Prime Minister should be banned from marching in the Mardi Gras, after it was confirmed the next census won't include questions on sexuality and gender.

Independent MP Allegra Spender says the decision to exclude the questions is "inexplicable" and says from a public policy decision perspective its important to capture this data.
