Being a rookie in the NFL is hard enough. Walking into the locker room for the Pittsburgh Steelers will add an element of intimidation that only a few will ever realize. This wasn’t the case for Merril. He took his opportunity head on and went on to be a key to the Steelers success in the late 80’s and early 90’s. After finishing his career in Chicago, Merril discusses how he came into the television scene and why his innate mindset to “find a way” helped him get to where he is today.

One thing that can’t be questioned: the mental abuse golf inflicts on anyone. There is no discrimination. Merril discusses his love for golf and the time he played with The King (Arnold Palmer) in a golf event where Merril was filling in for a fellow teammate. Needless to say, Mr. Palmer never wanted to play with Merril again
