Scott and Laura debate the options, including a potential return to Europe due to the crowding of the roster at the NHL and possibly AHL levels. Both seem to agree though, that Mesar in a Laval Rocket sweater is the best path forward so the 2022 first round pick has total access to the might of the Canadiens player development system.

Speaking of the future, a listener had a deep question about what the roster might look like in three years time. With just five current players still under contract going into that season, the Habs roster will look much different as they graduate prospects and also move on from others. Which players will step up into bigger roles, and who will be wearing a new uniform as the team hopefully pushes for a deep playoff run at that point?
