Wrapping up our interviews with leaders in bike share, we’re joined this week by Zoe Kircos, Director of Grants and Partnerships at PeopleForBikes. Through her work, Zoe manages the Community Grants Program for PFB, providing money to support bike infrastructure implementation in cities and towns all over the U.S. and she also manages PFB’s involvement in the Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP) - an initiative to promote and replicate equity-based implementation and community outreach strategies of bike share systems. Zoe talks about the origins of BBSP, the accomplishments and results the partnership has produced, and where bike share equity still has room to be improved. Zoe and the Bike Nerds elaborates on how the equity-focused lessons learned from the BBSP aren’t limited to use within bike share - they can be applied to all aspects of civic life.
