A native New Englander, Jane Goodrich has been for over 30 years the co-owner and principal designer at Saturn Press- one of the pioneers in the resurgence of artisinal letterpress printing.
When just 19 years old she and her husband took on the task of rebuilding by hand a replica of the lost shingle-style house Kragsyde, doing all the work themselves. This project triggered an interest in Kragsyde's original owner, George Nixon Black, the subject of Jane's new debut novel "The House at Lobster Cove."
Today Jane writes from an island in Maine, in a room that sits above Kragsyde's famous arch, using only a fountain pen. A lifelong love of the 19th century has inspired her work as a designer, builder, printer and novelist.
