Every now and again, Facebook does some good in creating new friendships and connections that I'm grateful for.  Today's guest is no exception.  Jess Hicks is becoming one of my favorite writers about genre films, with a plethora of great essays and reviews out there.  She is a Northeast Ohio native who has loved all things horror and fringe since birth. She has a piece published in a book entitled Trash Cinema about the film ILSA SHE WOLF OF THE SS, writes for a number outlets such as Blumhouse.com and is simply just one of the more passionate enthusiasts for films that I've had the pleasure of speaking with on this show so far.  We talk about being a horror fan from a very young age, how niche message boards helped to shape her writing, self-awareness in modern horror, television anthology shows, as well as the power of the original NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.   A truly joyful conversation with someone I'll know you'll enjoy listening to whether you're an avid fan of horror cinema or not.  It was a tremendous pleasure talking with her and don't be surprised if she pops by again in the future. Here is a small sampling of her work: Channel Zero - Candle Cove Rising Above Horror Genre Backlash Dead Awake Review disgusting.com/editorials/3395155/conjuring-2-made-cry/"> Why Conjuring 2 Made Me Cry
