Submit ReviewEpisode three of Under Her Eye starts at an all-time low, with Julia, Elissa, and their guest, Sydney, reeling from Ofglen’s very bad trip to the doctor, but ends on an all time high, with Sydney deciding to go to Fat Sal’s for a pretzel shake! Which is exactly what we’re here to do on this podcast. This episode is a doozy, even for The Handmaid’s Tale, but we get through it with Julia’s spot-on Aunt Lydia impression, and even more niche “muppet interrogator” impression. You know, that guy who interrogates Offred and sounds exactly like Kermit the Frog if he liked to torture people? We get into the food situation in Gilead — farm to table anyone? — and contemplate forming a feminist punk rock band (to vent our rage while masking our lack of musical talent). Also, we decide the tipping point of the political revolution / apocalypse will be when a small coffee costs $7.50 per cup, if anyone’s looking for an easy, tell-tale sign. This episode also features an especially moving spoken-word performance at the end — Handmaid’s Tale themed, of course. Sydney Steinberg can be found on Instagram @syd_steinberg.
