In Episode 26, Raymon discusses the significance that outpatient treatment had on his recovery — learning what he needed to do, learning what not to do and most importantly learning that it’s ok to trust people. For Raymon, going into outpatient treatment was the best decision he ever made.

The post Raymon appeared first on American Addiction Centers.

Raymon was introduced to marijuana when he was seven years old. By the age of ten he was doing meth. As a child, he thought meth was a secret potion. When he found out that he was a drug addict and that meth wasn’t a secret potion – that other people did it too – he started doing it a lot more. According to Raymon he worked to do drugs, and he did drugs to do work. He knew he had to get help when he was staring at himself in a mirror, a needle in his hand ready to shoot up into his tear duct. Once in treatment, Raymon learned so many valuable things towards achieving recovery – letting go of his resentments, letting go of the hate that he had towards people and taking responsibility for what he did. Now in active recovery, Raymon knows two things: he wouldn’t want to change the pain that he’s had, and that he’ll never go back to addiction. Podcast may contain mature language and situations
