For better or for worse, backyard wrestling is an interesting cog in the pro wrestling machine.  Many wrestlers got their start doing backyard wrestling.  The Young Bucks, Joey Janela, and even CM Punk all got their start in a backyard league.  For others, like Kaz and John, backyard wrestling was more of a creative outlet, allowing them to emulate the wrestling stars they saw every week on the WWF and WCW.  Oh, who am I kidding?  It was an excuse to beat up your friends and get away with it.

One thing that we delve into before discussing the aforementioned influence of backyard wrestling, we talked about an absolutely bizarre dream I had about working for WWE.  The dream seemed like something David Lynch would direct.   Vince McMahon is an insane, shapeshifting overlord.  Let’s be honest, that doesn’t seem too far off from the real Vince McMahon.  The department heads of WWE are all tiny Kevin Dunns.  The children of Stamford, Connecticut are all a part of this insane wrestling cult and they all play soccer for some reason.  Arguably the strangest but enjoyable nightmare I’ve ever had.
