Also a friend and mentor to Josh, Craig Carnelia is one of the greatest acting teachers of all time. He's an author, composter, lyricist, has received the Johnny Mercer Award, "Emerging American Songwriter", the first annual Gilman and Gonzalez-Falla Musical Theater Award, and the Kleban Award. He also is a mentor to young writers through the ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop, the Dramatists Guild Musical Theatre Fellowship and the Eugene O’Neill Musical Theatre Conference. His book, The Reason to Sing: A Guide to Acting While Singing, is like actually taking one of his classes and can be one of the greatest resources anyone has for their acting career. Our special "guest caller" this episode is one of his students, Sutton Foster. We also hear from other past students such as Annaleigh Ashford, Brandon Lawrence Pearson, Andrew Samonsky, Hayley Podschun, Devon Goffman, Noah Zachary, and even his amazingly talented wife Lisa Brescia. Produced by Alan Seales and Elizabeth Wheless. A proud member of the Broadway Podcast Network. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
