In episode 43 Adam Buxton and Zoe Jeyes return to review Zoe’s choice The Squid and the Whale. The 2005 semi-autobiographical comedy-drama written and directed by Noah Baumbach with Wes Anderson producing. Now if that doesn’t float your boat you probably won’t enjoy this as much as Zoe and Helen! Set in Brooklyn in the late 80s it tells the story of two boys and their different reactions to their parent's divorce. Walt idolises their father Bernard who happens to be a total douchebag and Frank sides with his mother. Its a film about pretentiously over analysing things and features a memorable performance from Billy Baldwin (everyone’s second favorite Baldwin).
Scores [supsystic-tables id='45'] At 81 mins runtime this film is a breeze and if you’re a fan of either Bumbag or Wes Anderson you should definitely watch this. Scoring a 4 overall from Flixwatcher and guests and 4 squids from Twitter we highly recommend it! What do you guys think? Have you seen The Squid and the Whale? What did you think?
