Submit ReviewJody speaks with Tony Matesi, former director of Spartan Endurance and author of The Legend Of The Death Race, an account of his three years trying to conquer the event.
Tony has a really interesting story from a family of circus performers who became a competitive cheerleader and then moved into obstacle course racing, and eventually ultras.
In this episode, he explains what attracted him about his first Death Race, how he prepared, what the race is like and why he came back three times before he felt he conquered it.
He also reveals his latest project to record stories of endurance athletes.
