April is Kaiju Month here at the Psychotronic Film Society and what better way to kick things off than with the King of the Monsters himself? This week, we're going all the way back to the original Japanese giant monster masterpiece GODZILLA (1954), or GOJIRA if you nasty.

Synopsis: Japan is thrown into a panic after several ships explode and are sunk near Odo Island. An expedition to the island led by paleontologist Professor Kyohei Yemani soon discover something more devastating than imagined in the form of a 164 foot tall monster whom the natives call Gojira. Now the monster begins a rampage that threatens to destroy not only Japan, but the rest of the world as well.

Hosts Justin and Gary talk about Godzilla's cultural and historical significance and take a deep dive into the (real life) history behind the film, and make their cases as to whether or not they believe that Big G deserves a spot in the hallowed halls of the Psychotronic Hall of Fame.
