Welcome to Episode 1684 on another episode of “On The Road Edition”, hosted by Stevie Kim. Today, she pays a visit to the magnificent Villa Crespi in northern Italy as a guest of Matteo Lunelli, President and CEO of Ferrari Trento Winery, for a special event to unveil the Giulio Ferrari Collezione 2004.
The Giulio Ferrari Collezione is only made in exceptional vintages. First released in 1995, followed by 1997 and 2001, the new label represents only the fourth vintage, 2004, which was characterised by extremely favourable climatic conditions.
With almost 20 years of ageing, the Giulio Ferrari Collezione 2004 was made in only 3906 numbered bottles and 331 Magnums. The special unveiling event involved a gourmet pairing created by renowned Italian chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo.
Matteo Lunelli explains the significance of the collection, the history of the winery and the villa, and the challenges involved in the long ageing of this wine.
