If Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer doesn’t shine bright enough for you and It’s A Wonderful Life isn’t so wonderful, maybe you just need an alternate way to get into the holiday season. This week we dive off the Nakotomi Plaza right into unconventional Christmas movies.

What makes a Christmas movie a Christmas movie? Everyone likes to Enjoy Stuff around the holidays. But taste is a broad spectrum. While some enjoy wall-to-wall Christmas plot, others find the fun in movies that may have just a pinch of gingerbread sprinkled in.

News

-We’ve got the Breakin’ action figures you’ve been waiting for since 1984!

-The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes are getting the “Live in Front of a Studio Audience” treatment on December 7

What we’re Enjoying

The Beatles are on the minds of Jay and Shua. Shua broke out some of his old Beatles vinyl albums and has really enjoyed the nostalgic feel of the limitations of albums. It’s been very therapeutic. Jay indulged in the hours long epic Peter Jackson Beatles documentary, Get Back on Disney+. If you’re a Beatles fan, it is worth checking out.

Enjoy Movies

For the last few years people have been debating whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie. So the TechnoRetro Dads break it down once and for all.

We look at a plethora of films that have some kind of connection to the holidays. Whether they take place around Christmas or they just have a scene where Mel Gibson beats someone up with a Christmas tree, we look at some unconventional films that fit many people’s holiday tradition bill.

Do you Enjoy any of the films on our list? Did we miss some? Let us know. Come talk to us in the Discord channel or send us an email to podcast@enjoystuff.com
