Submit ReviewToday Giles and Robbie are joined by Matthew Butler-Hart from Fizz and Ginger Films to interview legendary director John Badham about his celebrated films, his recent TV work as well as the new 2nd edition of his popular book 'On Directing'.
John was very generous with his time and knowledge, giving us precise guidance on how he works with and directs actors, plans shooting for the edit as well as highlighting the differences between working in films Vs. television.
John tells us about his start in movies directing period baseball film The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings before moving on to Saturday Night Fever where he spent sleepless nights finding the perfect location for the 2001 Odyssey disco club for John Travolta to dance in. We also discuss working with Laurence Olivier and Frank Langella in Dracula, shooting the perfect action scene in Blue Thunder and much more.
This week’s bonus segment features John Badham discussing his TV work in depth.
