Don't Look Down on Others – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on trek.com/wisdom-trek-podcast/day-1937">Day 1937 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget. Today’s quote is from Zig Ziglar, and it is, "All people want someone they can look up to, without that person looking down on them."

Don’t Look Down on Others

Within our created nature, we desire to look up to people in positions of authority or garner our respect in some manner. We also desire to be loved and respected by others, even those we look up to. Since we are created to be God’s imagers and take on the character traits of that perfect imager, Jesus Christ, we should copy what has been written about Him in God’s Word. Jesus never looked down on others, even those who were the lowest in their societal rankings. On the contrary, Jesus often condemned those in positions of authority and power for abusing their positions and thinking more highly of themselves than they did of others, including God. Yes, it is ok to look up to and respect others, but as you have an opportunity to be loved and respected, make sure you show that same love and respect from those who may have a lower standing in society. trek.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Don%E2%80%99t-Look-Down-On-Others-1-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300"> Philippians 2:3-11 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. As you ponder this...
