Submit ReviewThe Cincinnati Bengals entered Monday night's "Battle of Ohio" against the Cleveland Browns expecting Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense to continue their successful ways despite the news of Ja'Marr Chase being out several weeks with an injury.
Instead, Burrow and the Bengals took an old fashion butt-whipping from their cross-state rivals in front of a national audience as they are still looking for their first win in the AFC North.
If losing Chase wasn't big enough leading up to the game, seeing cornerback Chidobe Awuzie go down with what looks like a season-ending knee injury added fuel to a night filled with sacks, a costly early turnover, missed kicks, and a Browns offense running at full speed behind quarterback Jacoby Brissett, running back Nick Chubb, and receiver Amari Cooper.
Following the game, Dave Lapham jumped on the phone with Dave Berk for a special postgame In The Trenches, presented by First Star Logistics, to discuss the loss, how the Bengals can address their mounting injuries, and have a successful quick turnaround as the Carolina Panthers will be at Paycor Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
