Submit ReviewThis month marks the 40th anniversary of Sean S. Cunningham's FRIDAY THE 13TH, a film that was created to capitalize on the success of John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN, but ended up inspiring a slew of imitators itself.
One of the films that FRIDAY THE 13TH inspired came well after the 80s slasher boom and even well after the slasher revival of the late 90s had died out. In 2006, writer/director Adam Green promised a return to "old fashioned American horror" with HATCHET.
