But this time, they managed to actually do just that, putting Jughead on the bumpy road to recovery while catching up with Betty, who’s finding herself way too deep into investigating the Lonely Highway. Cheryl and Kevin are in a full-on cult, and Veronica plays Chad so hard it might just knock him out of the show forever. But the highlight of the night is helping Archie and Eric exorcise some trauma and reveal some of the hurt and struggle they’ve been hanging on to. Robin Givens, Riverdale’s own Mayor McCoy, took the helm for this episode and did a beautiful tribute to the pain and hurt of Archie’s platoon, and the peace both he and they could find with justice served.
