It’s finally prom night in Riverdale and you know what that means - murder. Well, OK, maybe not murder, but definitely creepy videotapes from our newest villain, “The Auteur”. But honestly, this season premiere in name only is actually tender and heartbreaking and kind of healthy? Cheryl’s still the worst, but Toni’s family drama was a refreshing twist on the typical “forbidden love trope.” It’s the breakup of Varchie, though, that really felt mature and wonderful in this episode, as KJ and Camila really get to shine while reconciling some very real feelings. All while Bughead is dealing with a seedy snuff film festival slash rave. It can only happen on Riverdale, and we’re back to discuss “Chapter 77: Climax” this week on The Doghouse.
