CW: Discussion of hearing loss, trauma, custody battles, shame, racism, gangs, cruising, serial killers, dismemberment, grief, gaslighting, abuse, toxic relationships. After an all-timer bonkers episode, this week’s Riverdale reigned things all the way back in by forcing all of our characters inside as a thick, menacing fog rolled in. And while that leads to a filler-adjacent episode, there’s nonetheless a lot of character development that’s surprisingly smart and thoughtful here. Veggie calls it quits (for now) because they’re dealing with a toxic past that needs to be addressed. Betty finally opens up about her darkest moment with TBK, and gets even closer to Archie. Cheryl finds a little bit of catharsis with an angelic Mumsie, and Kevin gets a sweet visit from Marmaduke himself to help him face down his demons. But the one truly wild moment we get is discovering that Jughead is to Iron Man as Tabitha is to Doctor Strange, and there’s a little bit of predestination for one Jughead Jones. Bundle up and get cozy for the night as we stay in for “Chapter 107: In the Fog” this week on The Doghouse.
