I'm blessed to know Brian and to be a small part of one of his projects with Kimberly. We have a very candid conversation about the business, his life, moving forward through trauma with gratitude. It was a beautiful conversation.

IN HIS WORDS:  My name is Brian Ross. I am the Co-founder and CEO of Conscious Content Collective. I Co-founded CC with my best friend and spiritual partner Kimberly Resch. about 3 years ago.  We bring awareness and education through the creation of remarkable documentaries and books about topics that matter to most of humanity. My background wasn’t Media at all and it’s crazy to believe that I’m actually doing this as a job!!!  I’ve been an entrepreneur all my life. I have been involved in everything from Venture Capital, Real Estate, and mortgage finance to Financial Advising prior to my current situation.

Conscious Content is the fifth company I have founded or co-founded but it is by far the most purpose-filled mission I have ever been blessed to be a part of outside of raising my daughters. Conscious Content wasn’t started as a way to make money it was started to try to do our part with helping fix a freaking broken world. if we end up making money then that’s great too. We will put it to good use.

I’ve Been blessed to have experienced a lot of success in my life however I’ve been humbled to my core on multiple occasions. Here is a brief explanation:  I don’t really remember my childhood before the age of six except that my father was a very dominant and reactive personality In my life growing up. He passed away when I was in high school. I lost my very best friend Nate to suicide and then his wife took her life 2 years later leaving behind their two young children. That was so very difficult and I have struggled with that.

I was nearly killed three times in both motorcycle and car accidents and ran out of oxygen at 65 feet down while diving.  In 2001 I lost a thriving VC company when the market crashed and 911 happened.  In 2009 I lost a thriving real estate company and 3 homes and ended up filing bankruptcy with nothing left in the bank or asset related except a vehicle.

4 years ago my brother passed away unexpectedly and I decided my life had to change and drew line in the sand as they say and tried a final time to ask my wife to get help and change. It was affecting our kids and it needed to stop. I was married for 17 years to my high school sweetheart who slowly developed bipolar disorder. The last 5 yrs of that marriage sucked pretty bad and I almost lost my identity and The will to go on. I divorced 3.5 years ago. Out of that marriage, I was blessed with 2 daughters Morgan 18 and Ashlee age 14. They chose to live with me most of the time however they are beginning to repair their relationship with their mom.

I know my life was meant to have a major purpose and I guess I just had to learn all these hard lessons before God Thought I would be ready for the position I’m in now At age 51 with Conscious Content collective. I’m very grateful for my life. All the ups and downs but I really don’t understand why there are so many.

Our most recent loss is the passing of Kim’s son Taylor. He was Only 15yrs old, a powerful swimmer, and a very bright light and just overflowing with potential. He was the son I never had and I treated him as that. I still can’t believe he’s not with us anymore. Sometimes as we try to get our arms around this loss and continue forward with our mission one day at a time. This may be one of the most difficult things I have been through personally and I ache for Kim as his mom.  Still, we go on...
