In this TWO PART episode, we will track McCartney over the ten days leading up to the September 20th meeting — as we did for Lennon.
In PART ONE we discuss Paul’s BBC interview and the impact on the situation when they lose Northern Songs. We unpack Paul’s interview —one of only a handful he gave that year—and examine what he was actually communicating. This is important because far too often thoughts, feelings, and motivations are projected onto Paul based on post-narrative spin rather than his own contemporaneous words.
In part 2 we talk about how Paul is framed in the story, and pressure test this characterization. We also try to see the story from both Paul’s perspective and from those around him.
