Boomer still thinks the Yankees are going to the World Series and he is rooting for Aaron Judge to come through the same way he was rooting for Pete Alonso to come through in the playoffs. Judge needs one huge hit to get the monkey off his back. It’s funny how in the offseason teams go out and pay huge money for pitchers, and in elimination games they’re not even on the mound. If they lose the series to the Royals, big changes have to come. If they lose this series, someone is losing a job. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with Carlos Mendoza talking about Pete Alonso’s HR. Jesse Winker is having himself a good time playing with the Mets. Sean Manaea talked about the atmosphere at Citi Field. Jack Fritz of WIP said it’s not loud at Citi Field and it’s not intimidating to be an opposing fan there. Spike Eskin called NY sports fans losers. Boomer called him a ‘scumbag’ and wondered how the Sixers did against the Knicks. Clarke Schmidt talked about starting tonight in KC. Jerry has audio of Woody Johnson after firing Rob Saleh. He thinks it will bring new energy and positivity that will lead to more wins, ‘now’. The Moment of The Day: Gio as Joe Benigno thinking Rob Saleh was fired for wearing the flag of Lebanon on the sideline in London. In the final segment of the show, will the firing of Saleh jump start the Jets as they face the Bills on Monday night? We also talked about the hurricane that’s bearing down on the Tampa area.
