Submit ReviewThere was good news and bad news Friday at the Crypt. The Lakers, coming off an incredibly frustrating loss to Boston Tuesday night, bounced back with a decisive win over a very good Denver team, 126-108. LeBron James was incredible, finishing with 30 points, nine rebounds and four assists, on a tidy 13-20 from the floor. Russell Westbrook finished with a triple double (15/11/12) and didn't turn the ball over in the second half. Austin Reaves had 16, Dennis Schroder had 15, and Pat Beverley (10/4/5) played his best game as a Laker.
Heck, even Thomas Bryant had 21 points, on 9-11 shooting.
Which leads to the bad news. Why was Bryant playing so much? Because Anthony Davis left the game at halftime and didn't return, after injuring his foot in the first half. It didn't look like much at the time (so much so that it took the TV folks a minute or two to figure out when the injury even happened), but Davis was clearly uncomfortable, and once the teams got to the break wasn't able to continue.
Darvin Ham, who responded to the absence of Davis not by going small, but by limiting those tiny guard lineups, said the team will evaluate Davis more on Saturday. How long can the team get by without him?
They face Washington at home on Sunday, which is a winnable game even if Davis doesn't play. If his absence extends out longer, though?
