The Coalition has cast doubt on whether the government's budget will truly reduce inflation in the economy.

Angus Taylor says the Reserve Bank will "look straight through" the inflation forecasts in the budget. He says that the cost-of-living relief outlined by the Treasurer is "putting a band-aid on a bullet wound."
