A new episode of my other podcast, Calm History, is now available for everyone: “Florence Nightingale: Crimean War & Birth of Nursing”.  The citizens of England began hearing about the poor care of their soldiers in military hospitals during the Crimean War. Florence Nightingale went to these hospitals and made long overdue changes that significantly increased the recovery and survival rates of these soldiers. This historical moment would be called the birth of modern nursing.
