The Opposition has seized on the arrival of asylum seekers in WA as evidence the Government is weak on border protection. But the Operation Sovereign Borders commander says the mission remains the same today as when it was established and any "alternative narrative will be exploited by criminal people smugglers."

Simon Birmingham, Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs told RN Breakfast that the undetected arrival is a "cause concern" and shows a "weakness" in the Albanese Government's approach.
