Hurricane Ian is just one of seven hurricanes hitting U.S. shorelines to reach category 4 or higher ratings since 2017. The storm, following the patterns of its predecessors, rapidly intensified right before touching ground. Scientists are now speaking out about the relationship between the intensity of these storms and the effects of climate change.
