Marvin Mutch spent 41 years behind the walls of San Quentin state prison for a 7-yea to life sentence for a murder committed in union city, California. The only problem is Marvin didn't murder anyone. His story was so mesmerizing, we edited out most of Sam’s questions, just to keep him telling his story in his own words. It’s an emotional joyride full of twists and turns, corruption, powerlessness, and extraordinary outcomes. Marvin’s story is about much more than injustice, it's a story about the resilience of the human spirit. He is an incredible example of how to keep going even when you feel powerlessness, and up against insurmountable odds. Marvin’s spirit was not broken, he co-founded My Brother’s Keppers and the Men’s Advisory Council, a prisoner Advocacy group inside San Quentin state prison, and continues to be an advocate for justice reform.
