Today’s guest, Joseph Sheehey, holds nothing back in sharing the details of his struggles with depression, suicidal thoughts, his career, as well as his views on medicine and healing. Joseph’s mission is to have conversations that are nuanced that allow us to hear and understand why we think the way we do. He wants to share his experience with medicine and how that impacted his mission.

When Joseph first struggled with depression in high school, he didn’t know how to ask for help. Like many, Joseph believed that he had to prove himself and in order to prove himself, he had to work himself into the ground. Thoughts like, “you’re not enough” creeped in. Seeing a therapist was his first step, but it was only surface level. Through college, Joseph never really dealt with the sadness and decided suicide was the only answer. This was the beginning of Joseph’s journey through holistic healing utilizing CBT and EMDR among other things.

Molly and Joseph go on to discuss the various outlets they each have utilized in their healing journey. This includes meditation, breathing techniques, cold plunging, etc. Molly and Joseph go on to talk about his business, Cured. Cured was born from Joseph’s decision to create products and infuse them into the health and fitness industry and rebrand cannabis. Cured products are infused with adaptogens, functional mushrooms, and cannabis which are dried and cured in order to process them. This is where the name Cured comes from. Joseph says Cured is the future of the supplement industry and what people can utilize to truly optimize themselves. Using the healing properties of nature, Cured’s mission is to show people how to do this and change their lives through it.
