Jillian Hall is the Programs Manager at NOVAC:BR (New Orleans Video Access Center) She is also a documentary filmmaker and youth media educator with a passion for socially-conscious storytelling

Jillian's past productions include the award-winning experimental documentary Yakona which screened at SXSW in 2014; a documentary short for the Time, Inc series New Orleans Here & Now; the History Channel series, American Daredevils; a nationally broadcast PBS series as part of The Mental Health Channel; and BetteR, a series of documentary shorts about the tumultuous events during the summer of 2016 in Baton Rouge.

She is highly proficient in all facets of film production; development, producing, writing, directing, editing, and distribution. In this episode we dive into the inter workings of film and the film industry and look at the role of film in society, the challenges of independent filmmaking and the Baton Rouge filmmaking community.
